Text 2 Dec the need for fuel (refer: Bonk)

This afternoon was a perfect example on why it is important to continually provide the body with energy. After just a bowl of cereal for breakfast I had a hard swim set work out. After being distracted with tumblr chores and shopping I didn’t eat a thing prior to my run (in hot weather) needless to say I crumped after just 3km where I am more than capable of running INXS of 10km. As a resut I did nothiing but waste my own time.

Bonk: def; expression used by cyclists to describe excercise induced low blood sugar levels; being a feeling of light-headedness and weakness in all limbs. Similar to ‘The Wall’ in running. Has fallen out of usage in recent years due to alternative meanings.

“I am feeling a bit light-headed, if I don’t have a banana, I think I’m going to bonk.”
“I’ve got the bonk.”
“I bonked really badly and had to get a lift home.”

Well it’s the midde of the day pretty much and somewhat of a scorcher today.

Just about to embark on a one hour run! Might hit the coast, and throw the camelback on. Will update my result as well as that of the Max Greaves 10km race last Friday!

I can now honestly say that I love my curves. I love my body. I don’t think I could have ever said that when I was 185 pounds which is unfortunate, but now that I can say it at 143 pounds, I’m so happy. I’m not losing weight to punish my body. I’m losing weight so that I can make my body better. I know my stomach would look so lovely if only it were flat, so what I want is to let my body do what it’s capable of doing. My body is my temple so I want to cherish and embrace it. I’m making myself better, I’m not hating myself or punishing myself, I’m making myself into the person that I want to be. Seriously, don’t wait to love yourself until you get down to your UGW, because who knows if you will actually finally be happy with yourself when you get there? You can’t just decide that everything will finally be peaches and cupcakes when you get there. Love yourself in the process. Love yourself on this journey. I still have a few months to go, but I’m happy that I’ve learned to love my body in the process of losing weight, instead of waiting until I got to my UGW. I do love myself now but I know I will love myself even more when I get there.

Text 1 Dec big couple of days

Breakfast of champions after a big two days.

After a 5km run, 2km swim and my one hour induction into my new Zen Do Kai martial arts class…. I followed it up with a group cycle this morning with some other members of my triathlon club.

Martial arts conditioning training was awesome…although feeling a little sore now!

Bit of a well deserved protien fix for breakfast this morining.

First set of progress photographs at one month. Small inprovements but still a long ways to go.
